## We did it again: a new roof for Christine

Just weeks after our first Free Roof Giveaway, one more story stayed with our whole team. So instead of stopping at one, we stepped up a second time for a Seaford homeowner named Christine Squires.

### The roof standing between her and solar savings

Christine lives alone in Seaford on a fixed income and has been through real health challenges over the past year. She'd been approved through the State for a no-cost solar installation, but during the solar inspection she was told her roof wasn't in good enough shape to support the panels. No new roof, no solar.

She wrote Ralph a personal, gracious letter sharing her story. We read it, and we couldn't ignore it. On Thursday, October 8th, our crew tore off the old roof and installed a complete new system, making her home safer and clearing the way for her solar project to move forward.

- Full tear-off & new roofing system
- New ridge vent for proper ventilation
- Solar-ready, so her install can move ahead
- Second free roof in two months

~60% estimated drop in Christine's electric bill once her solar is installed

Finished, sealed, and ready for solar.

> “Being approved for solar gave me hope, but finding out that my roof needed to be replaced first was discouraging because it is something I simply cannot afford. A new roof would make my home safer and would allow the solar installation to move forward, which could lower my electric bill by nearly 60 percent. That would be a life-changing help for me.”

> “When we started this giveaway, the goal was to make a real difference for someone in our community. We were fortunate to do that once, but Christine's story stayed with us. Her situation was too compelling to ignore, and we knew we had an opportunity to step up a second time. A new roof will make her home safer and open the door to major long-term savings through solar. That kind of impact matters.”

> “Christine is dealing with a lot, and she has handled it with grace. Being able to make this our second free roof giveaway in two months means a lot to our team. If we can replace her roof and help move this solar project forward, that is exactly the kind of difference we want R. Short Roofing to make.”

Free Roof Giveaway #1 • Where It Started

## Our First Free Roof Giveaway

This year we got to do something we'd wanted to do for a long time — give a deserving local family a brand-new roof, start to finish, at no cost. Here's how it came together.

### A new roof, and a little peace of mind

Our crew stripped the old, worn-out shingles down to the deck, made the repairs the home needed, and installed a complete new roofing system built to last. For us it was never just about the roof — it was about helping a family feel safe under it, and giving back to the community that has supported us since day one.

- Full tear-off & inspection
- Quality shingles, proper ventilation
- Clean, respectful job site
- Built to last, leak-free

The family and our crew on completion day.

Day one — materials staged, old roof coming off.
