The steps

Each is one change across the pages named. When one is live, read the site again and mttr marks it done.

  5. 5

Put the text in the HTML

    +1 point, to 99

Put the page text in the HTML the server sends. Most AI crawlers do not run scripts.

    The home page

  6. 6

    Link to orphaned pages

    Under a point

Link to each of these from a related page. A page only the sitemap knows about is treated as unimportant.

    Once, for the whole site

  7. 7

    Speed up the server

    Under a point

Cache pages or speed up the server. Crawlers give a slow site fewer visits.

    Once, for the whole site

  8. 8

    Link to your profiles

    Under a point

Link from the home page, in its header or footer, to each profile you keep: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, X, LinkedIn.

    Once, for the whole site

  9. 9

    Add structured data

+1 point, to 100, and full marks

Add valid JSON-LD that says what the page is.

    2 pages

    See the pages
    • /contact-us
    • /portfolio
2 more, to tidy up after 100
  1. 10

    Add depth to thin pages

    Under a point

Add true, specific detail until the page covers its subject.

    The home page

  2. 11

    Use one main heading

    Under a point

Give the page exactly one h1 that says what it is about.

    The home page

What else the read found

Half its pages take over 1,172 ms to start answering, past the 800 ms a crawler is patient with. Caching or a faster server helps every page at once. One fetch a page, the way a crawler sees it.

  • /portfolio-collections/my-portfolio/refurbishment2.9 s
  • /portfolio-collections/my-portfolio/cupboard-above-staircase2.3 s
  • /portfolio-collections/my-portfolio/bathroom2.1 s
  • /portfolio-collections/my-portfolio/made-to-measure-alcove-cupboard1.7 s
  • /portfolio-collections/my-portfolio/supply-and-fit-internal-doors1.7 s

Fastest: /contact-us, 52 ms. Heaviest: /portfolio-collections/my-portfolio/refurbishment, 165 KB.

Read from its home page’s code and the headers its server sent. A tool that loads later, or only on other pages, is not seen here.

A sign is not proof. Hidden characters can carry a watermark or instructions meant for an AI, and they come off with a clean copy of the text.
