Home pageWhat it says
TitleMatthew Ernisse
DescriptionMatthew Ernisse has spent far too much of his life working with technology. He is an opinionated dabbler in a wide array of disciplines. Here you will find things he has created.
First headingHello. I'm Matthew.
OpeningDoes this shit actually work? Do people respond to this nonsense? While the quality of the copy in the spray-and-pray deluge has gotten somewhat better (it no longer looks like the Save As HTML output of Word 98) it remains alarmingly stupid for the most part. This one stood out…
3 changes so it reads plainly as what it is
- Rewrite the description
Its description is 178 characters and is cut off in results.
Agent instructions
On going-flying.com, write the home page a meta description of one or two sentences, 50 to 160 characters: what the business does, for whom, and where.
- Name Lake Forest in the first words
The site is in Lake Forest, and its title, description, first heading and opening never say so. Questions to assistants often name a place.
Agent instructions
On going-flying.com, name Lake Forest in the home page title or first sentence, and in the description, where it reads naturally.
- Say what kind of business it is in structured data
Its home page declares no business or organization type, so a machine has to guess what it is.
Agent instructions
On going-flying.com, add JSON-LD to the home page declaring the most particular schema.org type for the business, with its name, address, phone and sameAs links to its own profiles.
- Read it again
mttr reads the site again and says how it reads now.
An estimate made by mttr against 16 lines of work, from its home page before any script runs. It is not what any assistant says about the site. Rethink the direction with us.
