How AI reads this site
The first words an assistant reads on its home page.
What an assistant reads first
Home pageWhat it says
TitleRoots & Shoots USA - Youth Movement of the Jane Goodall Institute
DescriptionRoots & Shoots USA is the youth action program of the Jane Goodall Institute empowering young people to be the change in their communities.
First headingYou have the power to build a better world
OpeningWhat difference do you want to make? Explore to unlock your passion and find ways to get involved today!
3 changes so it reads plainly as what it is
- Make the first heading say what the title says
The title and the first heading share no word that says what the site does: “Roots & Shoots USA - Youth Movement of the Jane Goodall Institute” and “You have the power to build a better world”.
Agent instructions
On rootsandshoots.org, give the home page one first heading (h1) that says, in a reader's words, what its title says the site is.
- Name Washington in the first words
The site is in Washington, and its title, description, first heading and opening never say so. Questions to assistants often name a place.
Agent instructions
On rootsandshoots.org, name Washington in the home page title or first sentence, and in the description, where it reads naturally.
- Say what kind of business it is in structured data
Its home page declares no business or organization type, so a machine has to guess what it is.
Agent instructions
On rootsandshoots.org, add JSON-LD to the home page declaring the most particular schema.org type for the business, with its name, address, phone and sameAs links to its own profiles.
- Read it again
mttr reads the site again and says how it reads now.
An estimate made by mttr against 16 lines of work, from its home page before any script runs. It is not what any assistant says about the site. Rethink the direction with us.
