Thanks to the help of our town coordinators we track how much trash is picked up, how many volunteers helped, how many abandoned tires were properly disposed of and the miles of roads cleaned. Great work!
Can you imagine what Vermont would look like if we just left it all on the roads!

Since Green Up Day and the Kentucky Derby always coincide, we thought we would have some Derby fun at our Green Up celebrations throughout the State.

Your favorite breweries helped bring the fun to life with
live music, hobby horse racing, great food and drink,
AND a make your own Kentucky Derby Hat out of recycled,

Although our main event is Green Up Day, Green Up Vermont works year-round to raise awareness and stewardship, create special programs, and to engage youth. Read more about our initiatives and how to get involved. Its feels great to give back!

    #### An Easy Way to Help

When doing your taxes this year remember to donate to Green Up Vermont on Line 23 of your VT return. If we all put in a few bucks, this program can really add up to keep Green Up Day alive as well as help us provide special clean up assistance year-round. Your donation makes a huge impact.

    #### Best Bag for the Job!

Many ask why we don’t use a more organic bag. We did our homework and found that Greencore bags have the lowest carbon footprint making them the most earth friendly choice. Greencore bags are made in the USA by Petoskey Plastics using 70% post-consumer recycled material. [More](https://petoskeyplastics.com/)

Don’t take our word for it – here is what a few of our friends have to say:

“We found that the roads were much cleaner this year! We heard from many people that have been cleaning them up as they take their daily walks. We had a great a turnout, every road was covered!”
